Sunroof

~1min read

If your vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, you can slide or tilt the sunroof using the sunroof control switch located on the overhead console.

The sunroof can only be opened, closed, or tilted when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

The sunroof can be used for approximately 3 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to the ACC or OFF position.

However, if the front door is opened, the sunroof cannot be operated even within the 3-minute period.

Information

  • In cold and humid climates, the sunroof may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.
  • After washing the vehicle or driving in heavy rain, be sure to wipe off all water on the sunroof before operating it.

WARNING

  • Never adjust the sunroof or sunshade while driving. This may cause loss of control and an accident resulting in death, serious injury, or property damage.
  • Make sure heads and other body parts or objects are clear before operating the sunroof.
  • Do not stick your head, arms, or body out of the sunroof while driving to avoid serious injury.
  • Do not leave the engine running or the key in the vehicle with children unattended. Unattended children may operate the sunroof, which may result in serious injury.
  • Do not sit on the roof of the vehicle. This may result in injury or damage to the vehicle.

NOTICE

  • Do not continue to hold the sunroof control switch after the sunroof is fully open, closed, or tilted. Damage to the motor or system components may occur.
  • Make sure the sunroof is fully closed when leaving the vehicle. If the sunroof is open, rain or snow may leak through the sunroof and wet the interior, and theft may occur.
