Theft-Alarm System
This system helps protect your vehicle and valuables. The horn will sound and the hazard warning lights will flash continuously if any of the following occur:
-- The door is opened without using the remote key or smart key.
-- The trunk is opened without using the remote key or smart key.
-- The hood is open.
The alarm sounds for 30 seconds, then the system resets. To turn off the alarm, unlock the doors with the remote key or smart key.
The security alarm system is automatically armed 30 seconds after the doors and trunk are locked. To arm the system, you must lock the doors and trunk from outside the vehicle using the remote key or smart key, or by pressing the button on the outside door handle while carrying the smart key. The hazard lights will flash and the horn will sound once to indicate that the system is armed.
Once the security system is armed, opening any door, the trunk, or the hood without using the remote key or smart key will trigger the alarm.
The security alarm system will not arm if the hood, trunk, or any door is not fully closed. If the system does not arm, check that the hood, trunk, and doors are fully closed.
Do not attempt to modify this system or add other devices to it.
Information
- Do not lock the doors until all passengers have left the vehicle. If a remaining passenger leaves the vehicle when the system is armed, the alarm will be triggered.
- If the vehicle is not disarmed with the remote key or smart key, unlock the doors with the mechanical key, turn the ignition key to the ON position (for remote key) or start the engine (for smart key), and wait 30 seconds.
- When the system is disarmed but the door or trunk is not opened within 30 seconds, the system will reset.
