Windshield Defrosting and Defogging

Windshield Defroster

Do not use or the position in cooling mode in extremely humid weather. The difference between the outside air temperature and that on the windshield may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, resulting in loss of visibility. In this case, set the mode selector knob or button to position and reduce the blower speed control knob or button.

• For maximum defrosting performance, set the temperature control knob to the highest temperature setting (turn fully clockwise) and set the blower speed to the maximum setting.
• If warm air is required at the floor during defrosting or defogging, set the mode to the floor defrost position.
• Before driving, remove all snow and ice from the windshield, rear window, outside mirrors, and all side windows.
• Remove all snow and ice from the hood and the hood air intake grille to improve heater and defroster efficiency and reduce the possibility of fogging on the inside of the windshield.
