Front Stabilizer Bar

FRONT STABILIZER BAR - COMPONENTS

REMOVAL 1. Remove the front wheel.

2. Remove the stabilizer bar links (both sides) as an assembly.

3. Remove the stabilizer bar bracket and stabilizer bar bushings.

4. Remove the front stabilizer bar.

INSPECTION

1. Inspect the stabilizer bar for damage or deformation.

2. Inspect all bolts for deformation and damage.

3. Inspect the stabilizer bar link ball joint dust covers for cracks and damage.

4. Inspect the stabilizer bar link ball joint stud rotating torque.

• If the ball joint dust cover is cracked or torn, replace the stabilizer bar link and add grease to the ball joint.

• Gently move the stabilizer bar link ball joint stud back and forth several times.

• Install a new self-locking nut onto the ball joint stud, then measure the ball joint stud rotating torque.

Standard value:

1,7 - 3.2 N·m

• If the rotating torque exceeds the upper limit of the specification, replace the stabilizer bar link.

• If the rotating torque is below the lower limit of the specification, the ball joint is serviceable, provided there is no binding and no excessive play in the ball joint.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the bushings onto the stabilizer bar.

The distance between the edge of the bushing and the edge of the white paint alignment mark on the stabilizer bar on the outside of the vehicle must be 10 mm.

2. Install the stabilizer bar bracket onto the bushing.

3. Fully align the bushing with the white paint alignment mark on the stabilizer bar.

Temporarily tighten the stabilizer bar bracket bolts, then install the bracket on the opposite side of the stabilizer bar.
