Rear Stabilizer Bar Replacement

1. Disconnect the stabilizer bar links from the rear strut assembly.

2. Remove the stabilizer bar brackets.

3. Remove the stabilizer bar.

INSPECTION

Inspect the stabilizer bar link ball joint rotating torque.

1. If the ball joint dust cover is cracked or torn, replace the stabilizer bar link and add grease to the ball joint.

2. Gently move the stabilizer bar link ball joint stud back and forth several times.

3. Install a new self-locking nut onto the ball joint stud, then measure the ball joint stud rotating torque.

Standard value:

3.5 - 10 N·m 4. If the rotating torque exceeds the upper limit of the specification, replace the stabilizer bar link.

5. If the rotating torque is below the lower limit of the specification, the ball joint is serviceable, provided there is no binding and no excessive play in the ball joint.
