Intake Manifold Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

   Remove the expansion tank. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Expansion Tank")

   Remove the vent pipe and hose (A).

   Tightening torque: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m

   Remove the water hose (C) and pipe (A), then remove the intake manifold (B).

   

   Before removing the intake manifold, be sure to drain the engine coolant. If coolant flowing from the cylinder head vent enters the intake port, it may cause damage to the combustion chamber.

   To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Tighten the intake manifold bolts in two or three passes. a ~ h: Step 1 sequence 1 ~ 8: Step 2 sequence

Tightening torque Step 1: 3.9 ~ 5.9 N·m Step 2: 26.5 ~ 31 N·m Step 3: Repeat step 2 two or more times.

Refill the engine coolant after installing the intake manifold and check the coolant level.
