Description
The passenger airbag module (PAB) is located in the passenger compartment. Accident site. This PAB contains 2 airbag initiators and 1 active vent initiator. Depending on the accident severity or seat belt tightening, the timing of the 2 airbag initiators and the 1 active vent initiator is determined. At the moment of a vehicle collision, the active vent initiator causes the airbag to expand, and then the airbag gas is released sequentially through the vent hole immediately. These operations reduce passenger head injury. First, the active vent sets fast airbag deployment by maintaining pressure; after deployment, the airbag releases gas through the upper airbag vent. Tether Cutter operating principle: when an electrical signal is received, the Tether Cutter cuts the strap attached to the Active Vent, to open the vent hole of the upper airbag. Active Vent operating range: 1) If the passenger in the passenger seat is not wearing a seat belt, the active vent operates at the end of the accident regardless of accident severity. 2) If the passenger is wearing a seat belt and the accident is severe enough that 2-stage passenger airbag deployment is required, the active vent is activated to optimize passenger protection. 3) Low speed + belted: main airbag inflator 2 stages and active vent deployment at the end of the accident.Test yourself
