Removal

Dust or foreign material on the rain sensor adversely affects its performance. Protect the sensor surface with the protective cover until the rain sensor is installed on the bracket for accurate function. The mounting pad on the rain sensor surface has adhesive strength so that the mounting pad stays attached to the windshield under ambient conditions during use. If the rain sensor is removed forcibly, it may be damaged. Therefore, be sure to carefully separate the rain sensor from the windshield.
  1. Remove the mirror wiring cover (A) and the rain sensor cover (B).
  2. Disconnect the rain sensor connector (A).
  3. Be careful not to damage the cover latch by applying excessive force. To remove the bracket, pull the bracket holes outward using a small flat-tip screwdriver.
  4. The rain sensor module is attached to the windshield with adhesive. When replacing the windshield, remove the rain sensor module from the existing windshield and install it on the new windshield.

Installation

  • If the windshield has a reflective layer that reflects infrared rays in the detection area, the built-in rain sensor must be installed in an area without the reflective layer.
  • Install the rain sensor after some time, and make sure that no dust settles after installation.
  1. Attach the rain sensor bracket to the windshield using tape.
It is very important that the connection pad is pressed fully against the windshield so that it adheres without bubbles.
  2. Connect the rain sensor connector, then install the sensor cover.
