Description

The Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor monitors the automatic transmission fluid temperature and sends the readings to the TCM. It is an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor whose resistance is inversely proportional to the temperature level. The data from this sensor is used to identify the torque converter damper clutch engagement and release range within the normal and high temperature range, and to perform hydraulic control compensation during gear shifting.
