Automatic window up/down (if equipped) (Driver's side window)

~2min read

Pressing or moving the power window switch briefly to the second detent (6) fully lowers or raises the window even after the switch is released.

To stop the window at the desired position while it is moving, pull or press and release the switch.

If the power windows do not operate normally, the automatic power window system must be reset as follows:

1. Turn the ignition to ON.

2. Close the driver's window and keep pulling the power window switch for at least 1 second after the window is fully closed.

Automatic reverse (if equipped)

If the upward travel of the window is blocked by an object or part of the body, the window detects the resistance and stops moving up. At this point, the window lowers about 30 cm (11.8 in.) to allow the object to be removed from its path.

If resistance is detected while the power window switch is held continuously, the window stops moving up and lowers about 2.5 cm (1 in.). Also, if the power window switch is held continuously again within 5 seconds after the window has been lowered by the automatic reverse function, the function will not activate.

NOTE

The driver's window automatic reverse function is only active when the "auto up" function is used by pulling the switch fully.

The automatic reverse function will not activate if the window is raised to mid-travel using the power window switch.

WARNING Before raising the window, always check for obstacles in its path to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage. If an object with a diameter smaller than 4 mm (0.16 in.) becomes trapped between the window and the upper window channel, the automatic reverse function may not detect the resistance of the object and will not activate.
