1. Pull the release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood will pop up slightly.

2. Move to the front of the vehicle, lift the hood slightly, push the secondary latch (1) inside the center section of the hood, and lift the hood (2).

3. Pull out the hood support rod.

4. Hold the hood open using the rod.

WARNING - Hot Parts Grasp the support rod in the plastic-wrapped area. The plastic prevents burns caused by hot metal when the engine is hot. WARNING Open the hood after turning off the engine on a level surface, shifting the gear lever to P (Park) for automatic transmission or 1st gear or R (Reverse) for manual transmission, and setting the parking brake.
