Heating

1. Set the mode to.

2. Set the air intake control to the outside (fresh) air position.

3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.

4. Set the blower speed control to the desired position.

5. If you want dehumidified heated air, turn on the air conditioning system (if equipped).

- If the windshield fogs up, set it to the mode o .

Tips

- To prevent dust and smoke from entering the vehicle through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control to recirculation mode. Return the control to fresh air mode once these irritants have passed to keep the vehicle air fresh. This keeps the driver alert and comfortable.

- Air for the heating/cooling system is drawn in through the grilles in front of the windshield.

Make sure the grilles are not blocked by leaves, snow, ice, or other objects.

- To prevent the windshield from fogging up, set the air intake control to fresh air mode and the blower to the desired speed, turn on the air conditioning, and adjust the temperature to the desired level.

Air Conditioning (if equipped)

All HYUNDAI air conditioning systems use environmentally friendly R-134a refrigerant.

1. Start the engine. Press the air conditioning button.

2. Set the mode to.

3. Set the air intake control to the recirculation position. However, prolonged use of recirculation mode will make the air too dry. In this case, change the position.

4. Adjust the blower speed and temperature for maximum comfort.

- For maximum cooling, set the temperature to the far left (coldest) position, set recirculation, then set the fan speed to maximum.

NOTE

- When using the air conditioner, frequently check the temperature gauge when driving uphill or in heavy traffic when the outside temperature is high. The air conditioner may cause the engine to overheat. Keep using the fan but turn off the air conditioner if the temperature gauge indicates engine overheating.

- If the windows are opened in humid weather, the air conditioner may cause condensation inside the vehicle.

Excessive condensation may damage electrical components, so use the air conditioner only with the windows closed.

Air Conditioner Usage Tips

- If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight in hot weather, open the windows briefly to expel the hot air from the passenger compartment.

- To reduce humidity inside the windows on rainy or humid days, use the air conditioner.

- When using the air conditioner, you may occasionally notice a slight change in engine speed when the air conditioner compressor engages. This is a normal operating characteristic of the system.

- Run the air conditioner for a few minutes every month to ensure optimal performance.

- When using the air conditioner, you may clearly notice condensation (or even water droplets) on the floor on the passenger side of the vehicle. This is a normal operating characteristic of the system.

- Using the air conditioner with recirculation provides maximum heating; however, continuous use in this mode may cause the interior air to become stale.

- During cooling, you may occasionally notice a misty airflow, due to the humid incoming air being rapidly cooled. This is a normal operating characteristic of the system.
