Curtain airbags are located along both roof side rails above the front and rear doors.
They are designed to protect the heads of front and rear outboard passengers in certain types of side impacts.
Curtain airbags are designed to deploy only in certain side impacts, depending on the force, angle, speed and point of impact of the shock.
Curtain airbags are not designed to deploy in all types of side impacts.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death from curtain airbags, observe the following precautions:
- All seat occupants should always wear their seat belts properly to help them stay in position.
- Properly secured child restraint systems should be installed away from the door whenever possible.
- Do not allow passengers to lean their head or body against the doors, place their hands on the doors, extend their arms through the windows, or place objects between the doors and the seats.
- Do not open or repair the side curtain airbags.
