Three-Point Seat Belt

~2min read

To fasten the seat belt:

To fasten the seat belt, pull it out of the retractor, then insert the metal tongue (1) into the buckle (2). You will hear a click when the tongue is locked in the buckle.

The seat belt automatically adjusts to the correct length once the lap portion has been manually adjusted to fit your hips snugly. If you move slowly and steadily forward, the belt extends and allows movement. In the event of sudden braking or a collision, the seat belt will lock. This also occurs if you lean forward too quickly.

NOTICE

If you cannot release the seat belt retractor smoothly, pull the belt firmly and release it. You will then be able to slowly release the belt.

Shoulder Belt Anchor Height Adjustment (5-Door Vehicle)

For maximum comfort and safety, you can adjust the height of the shoulder belt anchor to 4 different positions.

The shoulder belt should be positioned across your chest and in the middle of your shoulder, away from your neck.

Front Seat

To adjust the height of the seat belt anchor, push down or pull up the height adjuster to the appropriate position.

To raise the anchor, pull it up (1). To lower the anchor, press it down (3) while holding the adjustment button (2).

Release the button to lock the anchor in position. Try to move the height adjuster to make sure it is securely locked.

Shoulder Belt Guide Extension (3-Door Vehicle Only)

You can adjust the position of the shoulder belt guide to make it easier to get the belt over your shoulder.

  • • Adjust the belt guide to position (1~2) when using the seat belt.
  • Adjust the belt guide to position (3) when getting in or out of the rear seat.

WARNING

Improperly worn seat belts may cause serious injury in an accident. When adjusting the seat belt, observe the following precautions:

  • Position the lap portion of the seat belt as low as possible on your hips, not on your waist, so that it fits snugly. This allows your strong pelvic bones to absorb the impact force, reducing the risk of internal injury.
  • Place one hand under the diagonal portion and the other hand over it, as shown in the illustration.
  • Always check that the shoulder belt anchor is locked at the correct height.
  • Never place the belt across your neck or face.

To unfasten the seat belt:

Press the release button (1) on the locked buckle.

After unbuckling, the belt automatically retracts into the retractor. If it does not, check whether the belt is twisted, then try again.
