Operating Tips
- To prevent dust or unpleasant odors from outside the vehicle from entering through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control to the recirculated air position. Return the control to the fresh air position when the irritant has passed. This helps keep the driver alert and comfortable.
- To prevent condensation from forming on the inside of the windshield, set the air intake control to the fresh air position and the blower control to the desired speed, turn on the air conditioner, then set the temperature control to the desired temperature.
Air Conditioner (if equipped)
HYUNDAI air conditioning systems contain R-1234yf refrigerant.
1. Start the engine.
2. Press the air conditioner button.
3. Select the mode
suitable for face.
4. Set the air intake control to the recirculation position. However, prolonged operation in recirculation mode may cause excessive dryness of the air. In this case, change the air intake position.
5. Adjust the fan speed and the temperature control for maximum comfort.
For maximum cooling, set the temperature control to minimum (LO) and set the fan speed control to maximum.
Intelligent
Your vehicle is equipped with R-1234yf in accordance with the regulations of your country at the time of manufacture. You can determine which air conditioning refrigerant is used in your vehicle by checking the label located under the hood. Refer to Chapter 8 for the location of the air conditioner refrigerant label.
NOTICE
While the air conditioner is on, closely monitor the temperature gauge when driving uphill or when stuck in traffic at high outside temperatures. Air conditioner operation may cause the engine to overheat.
If the temperature gauge indicates engine overheating, you may continue driving. However, turn off the air conditioner.
- If the vehicle has been parked in the sun in hot weather, open the windows briefly to release the hot air from the vehicle.
- Once the vehicle has cooled sufficiently, switch from recirculated air mode to fresh air mode.
- To reduce humidity inside the windows in rainy or damp weather, reduce the humidity inside the vehicle by turning on the air conditioner with the windows closed.
- Run the air conditioner at least once a month, even for a few minutes, to ensure optimal system performance.
- If you use the air conditioner excessively, the difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield temperature may cause the outside surface of the windshield to fog and reduce visibility. In this case, set the selector knob (or dial) to the position
and control the ventilation at a lower speed.
