If a tire is flat, the low tire pressure warning light and the LCD position indicator will illuminate. Have the flat tire repaired by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible, or replace the flat tire with the spare tire.

CAUTION

Never use a tire sealant that is not approved by HYUNDAI dealers to repair and/or inflate a low pressure tire. Tire sealant not approved by HYUNDAI dealers may damage the tire pressure sensor.

The spare tire is not equipped with a tire pressure monitoring sensor. When a low pressure or flat tire is replaced with the spare tire, the low tire pressure LCD position indicator will remain on. In addition, the TPMS malfunction indicator will illuminate after flashing for one minute if the vehicle is driven above 15.5 mph (25 km/h) for approximately 20 minutes.

After re-inflating the original tire equipped with the tire pressure sensor to the recommended pressure and reinstalling it on the vehicle, the low tire pressure LCD position indicator and the TPMS malfunction indicator will turn off after a few minutes of driving.

If the indicators do not turn off after a few minutes, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Each wheel is equipped with a tire pressure sensor installed inside the tire behind the valve stem (except the spare tire). You must use TPMS-specific wheels. It is recommended that your tires always be serviced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

You cannot identify a low-pressure tire just by looking at it. Always use a quality pressure gauge to measure tire pressure. Note that a tire that is hot (from driving) will have a higher pressure reading than a tire that is cold.

Cold tires means the vehicle has been parked for 3 hours and has been driven less than 1 mile (1.6 km) during that 3-hour period.

Allow the tires to cool before measuring tire pressure. Always make sure the tires are cold before inflating them to the recommended pressure.

WARNING

  • The TPMS cannot warn you of severe and sudden tire damage caused by external factors such as nails or road debris.
  • If you feel the vehicle becoming unstable, immediately release the accelerator pedal, gradually apply the brake with light force, and slowly move to a safe place on the road.

Interference, modification, or disabling of the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may interfere with the system's ability to warn the driver of low tire pressure conditions and/or TPMS malfunctions. Tampering, modifying, or disabling TPMS components may void the warranty on this part of the vehicle.
