High-Voltage Battery System

■ HPCU (Hybrid Power Control Unit)

■ High-Voltage Battery System
WARNING
Never touch any orange-colored components or components marked as high voltage, including wires, cables and connectors. If insulators or covers are damaged or removed, serious injury or death from electric shock may occur.
WARNING
When replacing fuses in the engine compartment, never touch the HPCU. The HPCU is under high voltage. Touching the HPCU may cause electric shock, serious injury or death.
WARNING
In the hybrid system, the hybrid battery uses high voltage to operate the motor, engine and other components. This high-voltage hybrid battery system can be very dangerous. Never touch the hybrid system. Touching the hybrid battery system may result in serious injury or death.
CAUTION
- Do not place any objects in the area behind the high-voltage battery. In the event of a malfunction, the battery may become unstable or its performance may deteriorate.
- Do not apply force or place any objects on top of the luggage compartment. Such an action may deform the high-voltage battery case, resulting in a safety problem or reduced performance.
- Be careful when loading flammable liquids into the luggage compartment. If liquid leaks and flows onto the high-voltage battery, it could lead to degraded performance and safety.

WARNING
- Do not disassemble the high-voltage motor connector. The high-voltage motor connector may contain residual high voltage. Contact with high voltage may result in death or serious injury.
- The hybrid system of your vehicle must be inspected or repaired only by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- Do not disassemble or assemble the high-voltage battery system. Doing so may cause electric shock, which may result in death or serious injury.
- Improper disassembly or assembly of hybrid system components may damage the performance and reliability of your vehicle.
- If electrolyte contacts your skin, clothing or eyes, immediately flush with plenty of clean tap water. Have your eyes checked by a doctor as soon as possible.
WARNING
Never assemble or disassemble the high-voltage battery system.
- If you assemble or disassemble the high-voltage battery system, the durability and performance of the vehicle may be damaged.
- If you want to inspect the high-voltage battery system, have it checked and inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- Do not touch the high-voltage battery and the connected high-voltage cable to the motor (orange colored). Severe burns and electric shock may occur. For your safety, do not touch the electronic component cover or electronic cable. Do not remove the electronic component cover or electronic cable. In particular, never touch the high-voltage battery system while the hybrid system is operating. This may result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
- Never use the high-voltage battery, inverter and converter assembly modules for any other purpose.
- Do not use an unauthorized charger to charge the high-voltage battery. This may result in death or serious injury.
- Never place the high-voltage system near or in fire.
- Never drill into or strike the module case. Otherwise, it may be damaged. Electric shock may occur, which may result in serious injury or death.
NOTICE
- When the vehicle is baked in paint, do not bake for more than 30 minutes at 158 °F (70 °C) or 20 minutes at 176 °F (80 °C).
- Do not wash the engine compartment with water. Water may cause electric shock and may damage electronic components.
WARNING
This hybrid vehicle uses an inverter and converter of the hybrid battery system to generate high voltage. High voltage in the hybrid battery system is very dangerous and may cause severe burns and electric shock. This may result in serious injury or death.
- For safety, never touch, replace, disassemble or remove the hybrid battery system, including components, cables and connectors. Severe burns or electric shock may result in serious injury or death if this warning is not followed.
- When the hybrid battery system is operating, the hybrid battery system may be hot. Always be careful, as high temperature may cause burns or electric shock. Voltage.
- Do not allow water or liquid to contact the HPCU, HSG, motor and fuses. Hybrid system components are covered. If you spill water or liquid on hybrid system components, electric shock may result.
Information
Gradual reduction of high-voltage battery capacity.
High-voltage battery capacity gradually decreases over time and with use. This is a natural characteristic of high-voltage batteries. The degree to which capacity changes depends on environmental conditions (ambient temperature, etc.) and usage conditions, such as driving style and how the high-voltage battery is charged. Reduction of high-voltage battery capacity is not covered under warranty.
