Brake/Clutch Fluid
Checking the Brake/Clutch Fluid Level

Check the fluid level in the reservoir periodically. The fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side of the reservoir.
Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake/clutch fluid, thoroughly clean the area around the reservoir cap to prevent contamination of the brake/clutch fluid.
If the level is low, add fluid up to the MAX level. The level will drop as mileage accumulates. This is normal and related to brake pad wear.
If the fluid level is too low, we recommend having the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Information
Use only the specified brake/clutch fluid. Refer to "Recommended Lubricants and Capacities" in Chapter 8.
Information
Before removing the brake/clutch fluid reservoir cap, read the warning on the cap.
Information
Clean the cap before removing it. Use only DOT3 or DOT4 brake/clutch fluid from a sealed container.
WARNING
If the brake/clutch system requires frequent fluid addition, this may indicate a leak in the brake/clutch system. We recommend having the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
Do not allow brake/clutch fluid to get into your eyes. If brake/clutch fluid gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
NOTICE
- Do not allow brake/clutch fluid to contact the vehicle body paint, as this will damage the paint.
- Brake/clutch fluid that has been exposed to air for a long time should never be used, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. It must be disposed of properly.
- Do not add an incorrect fluid. A few drops of mineral-based oil, such as engine oil, in the brake/clutch system may damage system components.
