Battery
WARNING
To prevent SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH to yourself or others, always follow these precautions when working near or handling the battery:
Always read and follow the instructions carefully when handling the battery.
Wear protective goggles designed to protect your eyes from acid splashes.
Keep all flames, sparks, or smoking materials away from the battery.
Hydrogen is always present in batteries, is highly flammable, and may explode if ignited.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Batteries contain sulfuric acid, which is highly corrosive. Do not allow acid to contact your eyes, skin, or clothing.
If acid gets into your eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. If acid contacts your skin, wash the area thoroughly. If you feel pain or burning, seek medical attention immediately.
- When lifting a plastic-case battery, excessive pressure on the case may cause battery acid to leak. Lift using the battery carrier or with your hands on opposite corners.
- Do not attempt to jump start the vehicle if the battery is frozen.
- NEVER attempt to charge the battery while the vehicle battery cables are connected to the battery.
- The electrical ignition system operates at high voltage. NEVER touch these components while the engine is running or the ignition switch is in the ON position.
NOTICE
- When you will not use the vehicle for a long period in a low temperature area, disconnect the battery and store it in a warm place.
- Always fully charge the battery to prevent damage to the battery case due to low charge in low temperature areas.
NOTICE
If you connect unauthorized electronic devices to the battery, the battery may be discharged. Never use unauthorized devices.
