ISG (Idle Stop and Go) System

~1min read

The ISG system is designed to improve fuel economy by automatically stopping the engine when the vehicle is at rest (for example, at a red light, a stop sign, or in traffic).

The engine restarts automatically when the start conditions are met.

The ISG system is always active when the engine is running.

Information

When the engine is restarted automatically by the ISG system, some warning lights (for example, ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS, and the parking brake warning light) may illuminate for a few seconds due to low battery voltage. This does not indicate a malfunction of the ISG system.
