Parking Distance Warning-Reverse/Forward (PDW-R/F) System

~1min read

[A]: Rear Sensor, [B]: Front Sensor

The Parking Distance Warning System (Reverse/Forward) assists the driver while the vehicle is moving. It warns the driver with an audible signal if an object is detected within 100 cm (39 in.) in front of and 120 cm (47 in.) behind the vehicle.

This system is a supplementary system that detects objects within its detection range and sensor locations. It cannot detect objects in areas where sensors are not installed.

WARNING

  • ALWAYS inspect the area around the vehicle to make sure there are no objects or obstacles before moving the vehicle in any direction to prevent a collision.
  • Always pay special attention when the vehicle is moving near objects, especially pedestrians, and especially children.
  • Be aware that some objects may not be displayed on the screen or detected by the sensors due to the distance, size, or material of the objects, all of which may limit sensor effectiveness.
