If the warning message "Check Driver Attention Warning (DAW) System" appears, the system is not operating properly. In this case, we recommend having the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system does not replace safe driving practices; it is only a convenience feature. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations. Always pay attention to road conditions.
- The system may suggest a break depending on the driver's driving style or habits, even if the driver does not feel tired.
- A driver who feels tired should take a break, even if the DAW system does not suggest one.
NOTICE
The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system uses a camera sensor mounted on the windshield to operate. To keep the camera sensor in the best condition, you must observe the following:
- NEVER install any accessories or stickers on the windshield, or tint the windshield.
- NEVER place any reflective objects (such as white paper or a mirror) on the instrument panel. Any light reflection may cause the Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system to malfunction.
- Be extremely careful to keep the camera sensor from getting wet.
- NEVER disassemble the camera assembly or strike the camera assembly.
- Do not disassemble the camera temporarily for window tinting or attaching any kind of coating and accessories. If the camera is disassembled and reassembled, we recommend that you take the vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system checked for calibration.
CAUTION
The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system may not operate correctly with limited warning in the following situations:
- Lane detection performance is limited. (Refer to "Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) System" in this chapter.)
- The vehicle is driven aggressively or steers sharply to avoid an obstacle (e.g., construction site, other vehicles, fallen objects, bumpy road).
- The front steering of the vehicle is severely affected (possibly due to large tire pressure variation, uneven tire wear, or wheel alignment misalignment).
- The vehicle is driving on a winding road.
- The vehicle is driving in a windy area.
- The vehicle is driving on a bumpy road.
- The vehicle is controlled by the following assistance systems:
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) system
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system
CAUTION
Playing the car audio system at high volume may distract the driver's attention. The DAW warning sound may not be heard.
