Battery Saver Function, Headlight Delay Function
Battery Saver Feature
The purpose of this function is to help prevent battery discharge. The system automatically turns off the parking lamps when the driver turns off the engine and opens the driver's door.
With this function, the parking lamps will turn off automatically if the driver parks on the side of the road at night. If you need the lamps to remain on when the vehicle is off, do the following:
1) Open the driver's door.
2) Turn the headlamp switch OFF and then ON again using the turn signal lever.
Headlight Delay Function
If the key is removed from the ignition switch or turned to the ACC or LOCK/OFF position with the headlamps on, the headlamps (and/or parking lamps) remain on for about 5 minutes. However, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlamps turn off after 15 seconds. Also, with the engine off, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlamps (and/or parking lamps) turn off after 15 seconds.
The headlamps (and/or parking lamps) can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the remote key or smart key twice, or by turning the headlamp switch to the OFF or AUTO position.
You can activate or deactivate the Headlight Delay function from the User Settings mode on the LCD display.
NOTICE
If the driver exits the vehicle through a door other than the driver's door, the battery saver function does not operate and the headlamp delay function is automatically turned off.
This may cause the battery to discharge. To prevent battery discharge, turn the headlamps OFF manually with the headlamp switch before exiting the vehicle.
