Curtain Airbags

Curtain airbags are located along both sides of the roof rails above the front and rear doors.
They are designed to protect the heads of front seat and outboard rear seat passengers in certain side collisions.
Curtain airbags are designed to deploy in certain side collisions, depending on the severity of the accident.
Side airbags and side curtain airbags on both sides of the vehicle may deploy if a rollover or possible rollover is detected.
Curtain airbags are not designed to deploy in every side impact or rollover situation.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death resulting from curtain airbag deployment, observe the following precautions:
- All passengers should always wear seat belts to help keep them properly positioned.
- Secure the child restraint as far away from the door as possible.
- Do not place any objects on the airbag. Also do not attach any objects around the airbag, such as the door, side window glass, front and rear pillars, or roof side rail.
- Do not hang objects other than clothing, especially hard or breakable objects. In an accident, they may cause vehicle damage or personal injury.
- Do not allow passengers to lean their head or body against the door, place their hands on the door, extend their arms out of the window, or place objects between the doors and seats.
- Do not open or repair the side curtain airbags.
