Where are the air bags?
Driver and Passenger Front Airbags
Your vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and seat belts for both the driver and front passenger seating positions.
The SRS consists of airbags located in the center of the steering wheel and on the passenger side of the instrument panel above the glove box.
The airbags are identified by the "AIR BAG" embossed on the airbag covers.

■ Driver Front Airbag

■ Driver Knee Airbag

■ Passenger Front Airbag
The purpose of the SRS is to provide the driver and front passengers with additional protection beyond that offered by the seat belt system alone.
The advanced SRS system offers the ability to control airbag deployment within two stages. The first stage level is provided for moderate impacts. The second stage level is provided for more severe impacts.
Depending on the severity of the impact, the SRS Control Module (SRSCM) controls airbag inflation. Failure to properly fasten the seat belts can increase the risk or severity of injury in a crash.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from front airbag deployment, observe the following precautions:
- Always wear your seat belt to help keep occupants properly positioned.
- Move your seat as far back from the front airbags as possible while still maintaining control of the vehicle.
- Never lean against the door or center console.
- Do not allow the front passenger to place their feet or legs on the instrument panel.
- Do not place any objects (such as a cover, mobile phone holder, cup holder, air freshener, or stickers) over or near the steering wheel airbag modules, instrument panel, windshield, or front passenger airbag module above the glove box. Such objects may cause injury if the vehicle is involved in an accident severe enough to deploy the airbags.
