Description and Operation
Description
The photo sensor is located in the center of the defroster nozzles. The photo sensor contains a photovoltaic (sunlight-sensitive) diode. The solar radiation received by its light-receiving part generates an electromotive force proportional to the amount of radiation received, which is transmitted to the automatic temperature control module so that solar radiation compensation is performed.Repair Procedures
Inspection
- Direct intense light onto the photo sensor using a lamp, and check the change in output voltage.
- The voltage will increase with brighter light and decrease with lower light intensity.
