Power Windows
The ignition switch must be in the ON position to raise or lower the windows. Each door has a power window switch to control the window for that door. The driver has a power window lock switch that can disable the passenger window switches. The power windows will operate for approximately 10 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to ACC or LOCK/OFF. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows will not operate even within the 10-minute period.
WARNING
To avoid serious injury or death, do not put your head, hands, or body out of the windows while driving.
Information
- In cold and humid climates, the power windows may malfunction due to freezing conditions.
- While driving with the rear windows down or the sunroof (if equipped) open (or partially open), your vehicle may exhibit buffeting or pulsating noise. This noise is normal and can be reduced or eliminated by taking the following actions. If the noise occurs with one or both rear windows down, lower both front windows about one inch (25 mm). If you feel the noise with the sunroof open, slightly close the sunroof.
Opening and Closing the Window

To open:
Press the window switch down to the first detent (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Closing:
Pull the power window switch up to the first detent (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Automatic Window Up/Down (if equipped)
Pushing or pulling the power window switch briefly to the second detent (6) fully lowers or raises the window, even if the switch is released. To stop the window at a desired position while it is moving, pull or push the switch and release it.
Resetting the Power Windows
If the power windows do not operate normally, the automatic window system must be reset as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the window and continue pulling the window switch for at least one second.
If the power windows do not operate properly after resetting, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
The automatic reverse function is not activated when the power window system is reset. Make sure hands, other body parts or objects are clear of the window before closing to avoid injury or vehicle damage.
