If Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist does not operate properly, the "Check Blind-Spot Collision Warning System" message appears on the cluster for several seconds, and the warning light (
) on the instrument panel illuminates. In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

When the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (Side Mirror Indicator) does not operate properly, the "Check Side Mirror Warning Light" message appears on the cluster for several seconds, and the warning light (
) on the instrument panel illuminates. In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Disabled

When the radar or sensor behind the rear bumper is covered with foreign matter such as snow or rain, or when a trailer or carrier is installed, detection performance may decrease and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may be temporarily limited or disabled.
In this case, the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system is disabled. The "Radar Blockage" warning message appears on the cluster.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist will operate normally when such foreign matter or the trailer, etc. is removed and the engine is restarted.
If Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist does not operate properly after the foreign matter is removed, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- Even if the warning message does not appear on the cluster, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may not operate properly.
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may not operate properly in areas (for example, open areas) where no objects are detected immediately after the engine is started, or when the sensor is blocked by foreign matter immediately after the engine is started.
PLEDGE
Disable Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist when installing or removing a trailer, carrier, or other accessory. Turn Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist back on when finished.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Limitations
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction or may activate unexpectedly under the following conditions:
- Inclement weather, such as heavy snow or heavy rain.
- The rear corner radar is covered with snow, rain, dirt, etc.
- The temperature around the rear corner radar is high or low.
- Driving on a highway exit ramp
- The road surface (or surrounding ground) contains abnormal metallic components (for example, possibly due to subway construction)
- Stationary objects are located near the vehicle, such as sound barriers, guardrails, median dividers, entrance barriers, street lights, signs, tunnels, walls, etc. (including double structures)
- Driving in wide-open areas with few vehicles or structures (for example, desert, meadow, suburbs, etc.)
- Driving on a narrow road where trees or grass overgrow.
- Driving on a wet road surface, such as a puddle on the road.
- Another vehicle is following very closely behind your vehicle, or another vehicle passes very close to your vehicle.
- Another vehicle is traveling very fast and passes your vehicle in a short time.
- Your vehicle passes another vehicle.
- Your vehicle changes lanes.
- Your vehicle accelerates rapidly while a vehicle next to you starts at the same time.
- A vehicle in the adjacent lane is two lanes away from you, or when a vehicle two lanes away moves into the next lane next to you.
- A trailer, vehicle, or other towing equipment is installed with the radar around the rear corner
- The bumper around the rear corner radar is covered by objects such as a bumper sticker, bumper guard, bicycle rack, etc.
- The bumper around the rear corner radar is damaged, or the radar is out of position.
- The height of your vehicle is lowered or raised due to heavy loads, incorrect tire pressure, etc.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction or may activate unexpectedly when the following objects are detected:
- A motorcycle or bicycle is detected.
- A vehicle such as a flatbed trailer is detected.
- A large vehicle such as a bus or truck is detected.
- A moving obstacle, such as a pedestrian, animal, shopping cart, or baby stroller is detected.
- A low-height vehicle, such as a sports car, is detected.
Brake control may not operate. Driver attention is required in the following situations:
- The vehicle vibrates strongly while driving on a bumpy road, uneven road, or concrete section.
- Driving on a slippery surface due to snow, puddles, ice, etc.
- Tire pressure is low or a tire is damaged.
- Brake is adjusted
- The vehicle makes a sharp lane change.
Information
For more details on the limitations of the front view camera, refer to the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) sections in chapter 7.
WARNING
• Driving on a curved road
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction when driving on a curved road. The system may not detect a vehicle in the adjacent lane.
Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction when driving on a curved road. The system may recognize a vehicle in the same lane.
Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving.
• Driving at a road merge/split point
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction when driving where the road merges or divides. The system may not detect a vehicle in the adjacent lane.
Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving.
• Driving on a sloped road
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction when driving on a slope. The system may not detect a vehicle in the next lane or may misidentify the ground or structures.
Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving.
• Driving where the road height is different
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction when driving where lane heights differ. The system may not detect a vehicle on a road with different lane heights (connecting section of an underpass, separated intersections, etc.).
Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving.
WARNING
- When towing a trailer or other vehicle, make sure to turn off Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may malfunction if strong electromagnetic waves cause interference.
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may not operate for 3 seconds after the vehicle is started or the front view camera or rear corner radars are initialized.
