Engine Start/Stop Button
In this manual: Driving Your Vehicle
~1min read

When the front door is open, the engine start/stop button illuminates and turns off 30 seconds after the door is closed. (If equipped)
WARNING
To stop the engine in an emergency:
Press and hold the engine start/stop button for longer than two seconds, OR press and release the engine start/stop button quickly three times in succession (within three seconds).
If the vehicle is still moving, you can restart the engine without depressing the brake pedal. To do so, press the engine start/stop button with the shift lever in N (Neutral).
WARNING
- NEVER press the engine start/stop button while the vehicle is moving, except in an emergency. This turns off the engine, which also disables the power steering and brake booster. It may also reduce steering and braking control and result in a crash.
- Before leaving the driver's seat, make sure the shift lever is in P (Park), apply the parking brake, press the engine start/stop button to turn off the engine, and take the Smart Key with you. Failure to follow this warning may result in unexpected vehicle movement.
