Description and Operation

Description

The valve body is required to control the automatic transmission and includes various valves used to control the supply of oil from the oil pump. In particular, these regulators consist of pressure control valves, oil bypass valves, check valves, and manual valves. The body is also equipped with electronic solenoid valves that ensure smooth gear shifting.

Repair Procedures

DEPOSIT

  1. Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Compartment Under Cover")
  2. Disconnect the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery".)
  3. Loosen the drain plug (A) and completely drain the ATF, then reinstall the drain plug.

    Tightening torque: 33.3 ~ 43 N·m

  4. Remove the wiring support bolt (A) or clip.

    Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

  5. Disconnect the breather hose (A) from the valve body cover.
  6. Remove the valve body cover (A).

    Tightening torque: 11.8 ~ 13.7 N·m

  7. Disconnect the oil temperature sensor (A) and the solenoid valve connector (B) from the valve body.

    Tightening torque 9.8–11.8 N·m

  8. Remove the valve body assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

REMEDY

  1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
  2. After filling the automatic transmission with fluid, check the fluid level. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Fluid")
  3. Reset the automatic transmission adaptive values using GDS.
  4. Perform the TCM adaptive value learning procedure. (Refer to Automatic Transmission Control System - "Repair Procedures")
