Warning Lamp Activation

WARNING LAMP BEHAVIOR AT IGNITION ON

As soon as operating voltage is supplied to the SRSCM ignition input, the SRSCM activates the warning lamp LED. The lamp should illuminate for 6 seconds during the initialization phase, and then turn off. To warn the driver, the lamp should illuminate for 6 seconds, turn off for 1 second, and then remain on continuously after operating voltage is supplied if an active malfunction is present.
  1. Malfunction is active.
  2. Only a historical or normal malfunction exists.
  3. When the ignition is turned on during variant coding (EOL), the airbag warning lamp flashes at 1-second intervals until coding is complete. If variant coding is completed normally, the warning lamp illuminates for 6 seconds and turns off. Otherwise, the airbag warning lamp flashes continuously at 1-second intervals.
    1. If variant coding is completed normally.
    2. If variant coding is not completed.
If a current malfunction exists in the airbag system, or an internal malfunction of the SRSCM, variant coding (EOL) cannot be completed. In this case, repeat the variant coding (EOL) procedure after troubleshooting with GDS.
  4. Loss of battery power to the SRSCM: the warning lamp does not illuminate.
  5. Loss of internal operating voltage: the warning lamp is activated continuously.
  6. Loss of microprocessor operation: the warning lamp is activated continuously.
  7. SRSCM not connected: the warning lamp illuminates continuously.
SRSCM INDEPENDENT WARNING LAMP ACTIVATION: There are some faults in which the SRSCM cannot operate and therefore cannot control the operation of the standard warning lamp. In these cases, the standard lamp is activated directly by the applicable circuit, which operates independently of the SRSCM. These cases are: Warning lamp activation: The warning lamp indicates whether the passenger airbag (PAB) is in the activated or deactivated state relative to passenger seat occupancy. If the passenger seat is empty or occupied by a child (or child seat), the passenger airbag is deactivated and the warning lamp illuminates to inform the driver that the PAB is off. As soon as operating voltage is supplied to the SRSCM ignition input, the SRSCM controls the warning lamp. The OCS (Occupant Classification System) sends an undetermined state to the SRSCM as a parameter for passenger airbag deployment during tests. After switching on, the lamp illuminates for 4 seconds and goes off for 3 seconds during the initialization phase, and remains illuminated until a verified message is received from the OCS (Occupant Classification System).
