Emergency Opening of the Liftgate

Your vehicle is equipped with a tailgate emergency release lever located at the bottom of the tailgate.

If someone is accidentally locked in the cargo area, you can open the tailgate by following these steps:

1. Remove the cover.

2. Push the lever to the right.

3. Lift the tailgate.

WARNING

• It is recommended that you know the location of the emergency release lever and how to open the liftgate if you are trapped in the luggage compartment.
• The rear cargo area of the vehicle must never be occupied by passengers. The rear cargo area is extremely dangerous in the event of an accident.
• Use the emergency release lever only in an emergency. Use with extreme caution while the vehicle is in motion.
