Lower the tailgate and press firmly down. Make sure the tailgate is properly locked.

WARNING

Make sure your hands, feet, or any other part of your body are not in the way when closing the tailgate.

WARNING

Make sure nothing is near the latch, and do not slam the tailgate when closing it. This may damage the tailgate latch.

WARNING

Exhaust Gas

If the liftgate is open while the vehicle is being driven, exhaust gases and other harmful substances may enter the vehicle and cause serious injury or death.

If you must drive with the tailgate open, open all windows and vents so that outside air can enter the vehicle.

WARNING

Luggage Compartment

Passengers must not ride in the luggage compartment, which is not equipped with seat belts. To reduce the risk of injury in an accident or sudden stop, all passengers must always wear seat belts properly.
