As with seat belts and airbags, seat adjustment plays an important role in protecting the driver and passengers in the event of a collision. Seats should be adjusted to a safe and comfortable position.

WARNING

Do not use a cushion to reduce friction between the seat and the passenger. The passenger's hips could slide under the lap belt in the event of a collision or sudden braking. The seat belt will not function properly, exposing the passenger to the risk of serious or even fatal internal injuries.
