Opening the Fuel Filler Door

Open the fuel filler door from inside the vehicle by pulling the fuel filler door release lever.

1. Stop the engine.

2. To open the fuel filler door, pull the fuel filler door release lever.

3. Open the fuel filler door (1).

4. To remove the fuel filler cap (2), turn it counterclockwise. You may hear a hissing sound as pressure inside the tank is released.

5. Place the cap on the fuel filler door.

Information

If the fuel filler door does not open due to ice buildup, tap or lightly press on it to break the ice and release the door. Do not force it. If necessary, spray around the door with a de-icer (do not use engine coolant antifreeze) or park the vehicle in a warm place to melt the ice.
