This warning light illuminates in the following cases:

  • When the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button is in the ON position.
    - Stays on until the engine is started.
  • If there is a malfunction in the alternator or charging system.

If the alternator or the charging system malfunctions:

1. Carefully drive to the nearest safe place and park the vehicle.

2. Stop the engine and check whether the alternator belt is loose or broken.

If it is properly positioned, the problem may be in the charging system.

In this case, we recommend having the vehicle checked as soon as possible by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
