The ignition must be on to open or close the windows. Each door has a switch that controls its window. The driver has a window lock switch that disables the passenger windows.

The power windows can be operated for about 30 seconds after the ignition is turned to the ACC or OFF position. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows cannot be used even during this 30-second period.

WARNING

To avoid serious injury or death, do not put your head, arms, or body out of the window while the vehicle is moving.

Information

  • In cold and humid weather, the power windows may not operate properly.
  • When you are driving with a window (or the sunroof, if equipped) open, even partially, you may hear wind or buffeting noise. This noise is normal. If this noise occurs when one or both rear windows are open, lower both front windows about 2.5 cm (1 in). If this noise occurs with the sunroof open, open it slightly.
