Head Restraints
The front and rear (2nd row and/or 3rd row) seats of the vehicle have adjustable head restraints. Head restraints provide comfort for occupants but, more importantly, they are designed to protect occupants from neck and spinal injuries in a collision, especially a rear-end collision.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, observe the following precautions when adjusting head restraints:
- Always properly adjust the head restraints for all occupants BEFORE starting the vehicle.
- NEVER allow anyone to ride in a seat with the head restraint removed or installed upside down.

- Adjust the head restraint so that the center of the head restraint is at the same height as the top of your eyes.
- NEVER adjust the driver's seat head restraint while the vehicle is moving.
- Adjust the head restraint as close as possible to the occupant's head. Do not use a cushion that keeps the body away from the seatback.
- Make sure the head restraints are locked in place after adjustment.
WARNING
When seated in the rear seat, do not adjust the head restraint to the lowest position.
CAUTION
When there are no occupants in the rear seats, adjust the head restraints to the lowest position. Rear seat head restraints may reduce rear visibility.
NOTICE
To avoid damage, NEVER strike or pull on the head restraints.
