Display and Control
- After selecting "High Beam Assist" in the "Settings" menu, the Assist will operate as described below.
- Set the headlight switch to the AUTO position and push the headlight lever toward the instrument cluster. The High Beam Assist (
) indicator light will illuminate on the instrument panel and the system will be activated.
- When the system is on, the high beams will turn on when the vehicle speed is above 25 mph (40 km/h). When the vehicle speed is below 15 mph (25 km/h), the high beams will not turn on.
- The High Beam (
) indicator illuminates on the instrument cluster when the high beams are on. - When the High Beam Assist system is operating, if the headlight lever or switch is used, the system operates as follows:
- If the headlight lever is pulled toward you with the high beams off, the high beams will turn on without canceling High Beam Assist. When you release the headlight lever, the lever will return to the neutral position and the high beams will turn off.
- If the headlight lever is pulled toward you while the high beams are on with High Beam Assist, the low beams will turn on and the system will turn off.
- If the headlight switch is moved from the AUTO position to another position (headlight/position/off), the High Beam Assist system will turn off and the corresponding indicator light will illuminate. - When the High Beam Assist system is operating, the high beams will switch to low beams when any of the following conditions occur:
- When headlights of an oncoming vehicle are detected.
- When taillights of a vehicle ahead are detected.
- When headlights or taillights of a motorcycle or bicycle are detected.
- When the ambient light is bright enough that high beams are not needed.
- When street lights or other lights are detected.
