Remote Key Precautions

~1min read

The remote key will not operate if one of the following conditions occurs:

  • The key is in the ignition switch.
  • You have exceeded the operating range limit (approximately 10 m [30 ft]).
  • The remote key battery is discharged.
  • Other vehicles or objects may block the signal.
  • The weather is very cold.
  • The smart key is located near a radio transmitter, such as a radio station or airport, which may interfere with normal operation of the smart key.

If the remote key does not operate properly, open and close the door using the mechanical key. If you have problems with the remote key, it is recommended that you contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

If the smart key is placed in close proximity to your mobile phone, the signal may be blocked by the normal operating signals of your mobile phone.

This is especially important when the phone is in use, such as when sending and receiving calls, sending and receiving text messages, and/or sending and receiving e-mails.

Do not place the smart key and mobile phone in the same location, and always try to keep a sufficient distance between the two devices.
