Operating the Door Locks from Outside the Vehicle

• Turn the key against the direction of vehicle travel to unlock the locks, and in the direction of vehicle travel to lock them.
• When the driver's door is locked (unlocked) with the key, all vehicle doors are automatically locked (unlocked) (if equipped).
• Locking and unlocking can also be performed using the remote control (or smart key) (if equipped).
• After unlocking the locks, open the door by pulling the door handle toward you.
• When closing the door, push on it. Make sure the doors are securely closed.

NOTE

• In cold and humid climate conditions, the locks and door mechanisms may operate poorly due to freezing.

• If the door locking/unlocking is repeated many times within a very short period, either with the key or with the switch on the door handle, the system may temporarily stop operating to protect the electrical circuit and prevent damage to system components.

WARNING

• If the door is not closed securely, it may open.
• Be careful when closing the doors so that no one's hands get caught.

• To lock the door without the key, move the interior door lock button (1) or the central door lock switch (if equipped) (2) to the "Lock" position, and close the door (3).
• When locking the door with the central door lock switch (2), all door locks are locked automatically. (if equipped)

NOTE

When leaving the vehicle unattended, always remove the key from the ignition switch, apply the parking brake, close all windows and lock all doors.
