Malfunction of the Parking Assist System

~1min read

The Parking Assist System does not function properly under the following conditions:

1. Ice on the sensor. (The system will function normally after the ice is removed.)
2. Foreign matter on the sensor, such as snow or water, or the sensor surface is blocked.

(The system will function normally after foreign matter is removed or the sensor blockage is cleared.)
3. Driving on rough roads (unpaved roads, gravel roads, bumps, slopes).
4. Loud noise sources within the sensor's range (horns of other vehicles, loud motorcycle engines or air brakes of trucks).
5. Heavy rain or heavy spray.
6. Operation of radio transmitters or mobile phones within the sensor's range.
7. The sensor is covered with snow.
8. While towing a trailer.

The operating range of the system may decrease in the following cases:

1. Contamination of the sensor surface by foreign substances, such as snow or water. (The operating range will return to normal once the contamination is removed.)
2. Extremely high or low ambient air temperature.

The sensor may not detect the following objects:

1. Sharp or thin objects, such as wires, chains or small posts.
2. Objects that normally absorb sensor signals, such as clothing, porous materials or snow.
3. Objects less than 1 m (40 in.) high and less than 14 cm (6 in.) in diameter.
