Contamination of the windshield or wiper blades with foreign substances may reduce wiper performance.

Common sources of contamination include insects, tree sap, and hot wax treatments used by some commercial car washes. If the blades do not wipe properly, clean the glass and blades with a clean cloth dampened with washer fluid.

CAUTION

To avoid damaging the wiper blades, arms, or other components, do not perform the following:

  • Use gasoline, kerosene, paint thinner, or other solvents on or near them.
  • Attempt to move the wipers by hand.
  • Use wiper blades other than those specified.

✽ NOTICE

Hot waxes applied at automatic car washes are known to make the windshield difficult to clean.
