Tires and Wheels

WARNING

Tire failure may cause loss of vehicle control and result in an accident. To reduce the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH, observe the following precautions:

  • Check tires monthly for proper inflation, as well as for wear and damage.
  • The recommended cold tire inflation pressure for your vehicle can be found in this Owner's Manual and on the tire label located on the driver's side center pillar. Always use a tire pressure gauge to check tire pressure. Tires with too much or too little pressure are subject to uneven wear and poor handling.
  • Check the spare tire pressure each time you check the pressure of the other tires on your vehicle.
  • Replace worn, unevenly worn, or damaged tires. Worn tires may result in loss of braking efficiency, steering control, or traction.
  • ALWAYS replace tires with tires of the same size as those originally supplied with this vehicle. Using tires and wheels of sizes other than recommended may result in abnormal handling characteristics, poor vehicle control, or adversely affect the vehicle's Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which may lead to a serious accident.
