The front and rear seats of the vehicle have adjustable head restraints. Head restraints are designed to help protect occupants from whiplash and other neck and spine injuries during a collision, especially a rear-end collision. When there are no occupants in the rear seats, adjust the rear head restraints to the lowest position to improve driver visibility.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, observe the following precautions when adjusting your head restraints:

  • Always adjust the head restraints properly for all occupants BEFORE driving the vehicle.
  • Never allow anyone to ride in a seat with the head restraint removed or installed upside down.
  • Adjust the head restraint so that the center of the head restraint is at the same height as the top of your eyes.
  • Never adjust the driver's head restraint while the vehicle is moving.
  • Make sure the head restraint is locked in place after adjustment.

WARNING

When passengers are seated in the rear seats, always raise the head restraints above the lowest stored position.
