When a vehicle approaching from the rear is detected while opening the door, the side mirror indicator may flash, a warning message may appear on the instrument cluster, and an audible warning may sound.
- Safe Exit Warning may warn you when your vehicle speed is below 2 mph (3 km/h) and the speed of an approaching vehicle from the rear is above 6 km/h.
WARNING
Safe Exit Warning may not operate in all situations and cannot prevent all collisions. To avoid serious injury or death:
- Always check your surroundings before you or your passengers exit the vehicle.
- Change the settings only after parking your vehicle in a safe place.
- When another system warning message or audible warning is heard, Safe Exit Warning may not warn you.
- You may not hear the Safe Exit Warning audible warning if the surrounding environment is too noisy.
- Safe Exit Warning may stop working, may not work, or may operate differently depending on road and environmental conditions.
Information
- After the engine is turned off, Safe Exit Warning may detect approaching vehicles for up to 10 minutes, but does not operate after the doors are locked.
- Images and colors on the instrument cluster may differ depending on the cluster type or the theme selected in the Settings menu.
