~1min read

To use the system, open each rear door, use a flat-blade screwdriver (or mechanical key), and turn the dial to the lock or unlock position.

Child Safety Door Lock Feature

NOTE:

  • When the child safety door lock system is engaged, the door can only be opened using the outside door handle, even if the inside door lock is in the unlocked position.
  • After disengaging the child safety door lock system, always check the door from the inside to make sure it is in the unlocked position.
  • After engaging the child safety door lock system, always check the door from the inside to make sure it is in the locked position.
  • For emergency exit with the system engaged, move the lock lever rearward (located on the door trim panel), lower the window, and open the door using the outside door handle.

NOTE:

Always use this feature when transporting children. After engaging the child safety locks on both rear doors, check their operation by trying to open the door with the inside handle. Once the child safety door lock system is engaged, the doors cannot be opened from inside the vehicle. Before leaving the vehicle, be sure to check that no one remains inside.
