Recirculation Button

~1min read

Jeep Wrangler. Recirculation ButtonPress the recirculation button on the front panel to switch the system between recirculation mode and outside air mode. The recirculation indicator and the A/C indicator (if equipped) illuminate when the recirculation button is pressed. Recirculation can be used when outside conditions such as smoke, odors, dust, or high humidity are present. Recirculation can be used in all modes except Defrost. Recirculation may not be available when conditions exist that could cause fogging on the inside of the windshield. The A/C can be turned off manually without affecting the mode selection controls. Continuous use of recirculation mode may make the cabin air stuffy and may cause the windows to fog. Extended use of this mode is not recommended.

On vehicles with manual climate control (if equipped), recirculation mode is not allowed in Defrost mode to improve window clearing. Recirculation is automatically turned off when this mode is selected. Attempting to use recirculation in this mode causes the LED in the control button to flash and then turn off.
