ISG System Malfunction

The system may not operate when:

A malfunction has occurred in sensors or systems related to the ISG.

The following will happen:

• The yellow AUTO STOP () indicator on the instrument cluster will remain on after flashing for 5 seconds.
• The ISG OFF button indicator will illuminate.

✽ NOTICE

• If the ISG OFF button indicator does not turn off after pressing the ISG OFF button again, or if the ISG system continues to malfunction, we recommend that you have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
• When the ISG OFF button indicator is on, it may turn off after driving the vehicle at a speed of approximately 80 km/h for no more than two hours and setting the blower speed control below the 2nd position. If the ISG OFF button indicator remains on despite this procedure, we recommend that you have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.

WARNING

When the engine is in idle stop mode, it can be restarted without any driver action.

Before leaving the vehicle or working in the engine compartment, stop the engine by turning the ignition key to the LOCK/OFF position or removing the key.
