1. Pull the hood release lever. The hood should pop up slightly.

WARNING

Open the hood after turning off the engine on a level surface, shifting the shift lever to P (Park) for automatic transmission/dual clutch transmission, or to 1 (First) or R (Reverse) for manual transmission, and setting the parking brake.

2. Move to the front of the vehicle, slightly lift the hood, lift the secondary latch (1) located at the center of the hood, and raise the hood (2).

3. Pull out the support rod.

4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.

WARNING - Hot Components

Be very careful not to touch the support rod when the engine and components are hot. You may be burned or seriously injured.
